Hike the Corfu Trail from Asprokavos to Agios Spyridon and Kalami on a 2-week walking holiday, following cobbled paths through a variety of landscapes alongside coastlines and over the hills.

  • Visit charming mountain villages
  • Walk on ancient mule tracks
  • Scenic olive groves & panoramic views
  • Walk the entire Corfu trail, with rest days
  • Spend extra time exploring Kalami village

Deservedly a firm favourite, this is a must do for walkers. Explore this picturesque island's mountainous north and the beautiful rolling landscapes in the south.

This two week self-guided itinerary in Corfu takes you through the finest areas of the island, hiking the full Corfu Trail. Walk on cobbled paths and inland tracks through cool forests of cedar and juniper, olive groves and oaks in the north passing rivers and lush pastures en route. You’ll summit Corfu’s second highest alonestanding peak, Agii Deka (576 metres), on day 5 and have the opportunity for a small detour to the highest summit of the island, Pantokrator, on day 11!

Away from the coastal tourist hubs, you’ll pass over 100 villages, ancient manor houses, byzantine monasteries and welcoming quayside tavernas. There are also ample opportunities to enjoy a dip in the warm, turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea. And, of course there’s the added bonus of the pleasing Corfu climate too!

The Corfu Trail is also available as a 10-day trip, and a 1-week itinerary for those who want a shorter walking holiday.

  7. Day 7: Rest day

You may choose to stay on the beach or at the pool in front of your hotel, walk up to Liapades and explore the old village or, weather permitting, rent a boat and head along the coastline to find your own deserted beach.

  8. Day 8: Liapades to Agios Georgios

Passing olive groves on your way uphill, make your way from Liapades to Agios Georgios, enjoying some of Europe's best views en route.

    Walking distance: 14 km | Ascent: 500 m | Descent: 500 m

  9. Day 9: Agios Georgios to Rekini

A quiet, part-asphalt road takes you through agricultural land alongside the Megapotamos River. Walking distance: 14 km | Ascent: 450 m | Descent: 400 m

  10. Day 10: Rekini to Spartillas and Barbati

Today's route takes you on tracks up a deep valley, before taking a lovely cobbled path to Sokraki, where you can enjoy a rest and take in the jovial atmosphere in the village square. Leaving Sokraki, continue through pastures on paths and tracks, with a gentle ascent to Spartillas and on to Barbati.

    Walking distance: 16 km | Ascent: 550 m | Descent: 580 m

  11. Day 11: Spartillas to Agios Spyridon & Kalami

Today starts with a steep mountain footpath, climbing up a gully to Taxiarchis Chapel, which offers you fabulous views. After descending on the mountain track, you'll come to the high col of the main ridge, with views to Corfu's north and south.

After descending to Old Perithia, reach the coast at Almiros and then walk on the beach to the most northernmost point on the island, a wild and bare headland.  A rough cliffpath then leads you to the end of the Corfu Trail at Saint Spiridon Beach. From here, take a taxi to your accommodation in Kalami (payable locally).

    Walking distance: 24 km | Ascent: 700 m | Descent: 950 m

  12. Day 12: Rest day

You may choose to either laze on the beach, to eat at Lawrence Durrell’s White House, or to explore the lovely coastal path in the other direction.

  13. Day 13: Mountain & North East Coastal Circuit

Starting and finishing in Kalami, this is an almost circular walk which takes you uphill, following high mountain flanks to the village of Porta, before continuing to the semi-ruined village of Mengoulas.

    Walking distance: 16 km | Ascent: 600 m | Descent: 600 m

  14. Day 14: Rest day
