This 8 day tour explores some of the highlights of the famous Eastern Lycian Way while staying in friendly local accommodation.

  • An insight into Lycia's ancient history
  • Picturesque views of turquoise seas
  • Visit the City of Olympos ruins
  • See the eternal Flames of Chimera

Running through Lycia, an ancient region of Turkey, the Lycian Way follows a mixture of coastal trails and inland paths in the Taurus Mountains. It is a rich landscape covered in luscious forests, fed by the many streams and rivers that weave through the region.

On this itinerary you will visit mountain villages, goat trails and tracks through forests, over agricultural land and ancient terraces. The area is littered with historical remains for you to explore, some are documented and managed others are just there waiting to be discovered. Following routes used by local shepherds, hunters, subsistence farmers and families, you’ll have the chance to interact with wonderfully friendly locals. With the rural code of hospitality, you may even be invited for a cup of tea or two along the way. You will also get the chance to sample the deliciously fresh locally grown produce in the many traditional restaurants and experience the diversity that Turkish cuisine has to offer.
