Corsica is a fascinating location for trekking adventures, with stunning mountain scenery, a glittering coastline and a fiercely proud identity. Trek the GR20 North through the most wild and beautiful landscapes that Corsica has to offer or enjoy more moderate walks from the mountains, through Scala Santa Regina Gorge, rivers and forests, towards the most spectacular part of the island's coastline.
The terrain can be rocky on the mountain trails, with easier paths through the forests, and ascents and descents are constant. The GR20 North is one of the most challenging long-distance walks in Europe so is more strenuous, with higher altitudes of up to 2607m, and requires a high level of fitness and stamina. It is therefore best suited to the regular, experienced walker.
The best time of year to travel to Corsica is from April to September. Temperatures during these months are never excessively hot thanks to the pleasant sea breeze.
